As part of the INUA PAGBA Project, Sung Foundation conducted capacity-building training sessions for frontline service providers in the Yendi Municipality and Mion District, aimed at strengthening survivor-centred responses to gender-based violence (GBV).

The trainings were held in Yendi on 16th April 2026 and Mion on 23rd April 2026, bringing together key actors whose roles are critical to the prevention, reporting, referral, and response to cases of GBV.

Participants were taken through key principles of survivor-centred GBV response, with emphasis on protecting the dignity, rights, safety, confidentiality, and choices of survivors. The sessions also encouraged participants to reflect on challenges within existing response systems and identify practical ways to improve coordination and referral among service providers.

The engagements provided an important platform for frontline actors to share experiences, strengthen their understanding of their respective roles, and explore ways of ensuring that women and girls who experience violence receive appropriate and timely support.
The training forms part of Sung Foundation’s broader efforts under the INUA PAGBA Project to strengthen institutional and community systems for the prevention of GBV and the protection of women and girls, while promoting action on issues including child marriage, women’s leadership, and digital safety.

By strengthening the capacity of frontline service providers and fostering greater coordination among key actors, the initiative contributes to building a more responsive and survivor-centred support system across the Yendi Municipality and Mion District.
